Advocacy

The DC Arts Education Alliance is committed to supporting fair and equitable access to the arts for all students across the district by advocating for right distribution of resources, educating policy makers about the impacts of arts education, and working with city officials to develop arts-based solutions that meet the needs of our diverse city. As a unified voice of practitioners whose primary function is to provide and promote arts education, we use our collective base of knowledge and networks to understand and speak to the issues and policies that most impact funding and representation of arts education in DC.

Anti-Racism and DEI Training

Life Pieces to Master Pieces:

The result of more than two decades of experience in human development, Color Me Community(TM) workshops provide a nurturing and nonjudgmental environment for people of all races to safely grapple with issues that deeply divide and separate us from one another. These highly interactive workshops facilitate participants in exploring the lenses through which they see life; and without guilt, blame or shame, identify the “isms” that keep them from being fully connected to others who do not share their race, nationality, beliefs, lifestyles, or socio-economic status.
